The emblem of Sporting Mumbai, our football club formed in 2021, pays tribute to our location in the North-East part of Mumbai, specifically Mulund. Inspired by the rich natural and cultural heritage of the area, our logo captures the essence of our surroundings.
At the crest’s pinnacle, a triangular shape represents the majestic Mulund Hills, symbolizing the strength and resilience of our club. Inside the crest, three fluid waves embody the presence of three iconic lakes in the region: Tulsi Lake, Vihar Lake, and Powai Lake. Amit Phapale, armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, offers a distinctive perspective on the football landscape. His technical acumen, coupled with a profound understanding of the game, facilitates the implementation of innovative strategies both on and off the field. From leveraging technology for sports analysis during his tenure at Hudl to managing business development for Astro Turf facilities at KheloMore, Amit’s career reflects a commitment to bridging the realms of technology and sports, making a tangible impact in both domains.
Saurabh Keni, a skilled VFX artist, brings a creative edge to Sporting Mumbai. His artistic prowess, honed in his profession, extends seamlessly to the football field, ensuring that the club not only excels on the pitch but also dazzles in its branding and presentation. Saurabh’s diverse experience, including coaching roles at Sports Works India and FC Barcelona Football Schools, demonstrates his dedication to the sport from both technical and coaching perspectives.
Born and bred in Mulund, Amit and Saurabh have become integral figures in the football ecosystem of Mulund East. Their commitment to youth development is evidenced by several of their coached players joining top clubs in the City. The friendship between Amit and Saurabh serves as the driving force behind their full-time commitment to the football industry, providing a solid foundation for Sporting Mumbai’s success.
